EI DuPont de Nemours & Co DD reported its Q1 earnings at $1.52 per share, up from $1.24 per share, in the year-ago period. The company's sales increased 18% to $10.0 billion. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $1.36 per share on revenue of $9.19 billion.
DuPont raised its full-year 2011 earnings guidance to a range of $3.65 to $3.85 per share from its earlier range of $3.45 to $3.75 per share.
DD shares surged 3.94% to $57.55 in after-hours trading.
