Sirius XM Does A Channel Shuffle

Satellite radio listeners that attempted to tune into their favorite Sirius XM SIRI outlaw country, Bruce Springsteen or soul channel this morning may have struggled due to the fact that the company rearranged their channels today. The reasoning, in fact, is sound. Since the merger between Sirius and XM, channels have occupied different channel numbers depending on the type of radio the user owns. This rearrangement will mean that the channel order will be the same on both radio types. In addition, genres and content types will be grouped together. Sirius XM has posted an online guide to make the transition as easy as possible for listeners, though a look over the many online boards discussing the change today suggests that few people have noticed the changes, let alone been inconvenienced, with most saying that they scroll channels by category and not number anyway. There will inevitably be a brief period of confusion for some, but kudos to Sirius XM for giving ample warning and making the transition as pain-free as possible.
