The Digi-Mag Continues: Condé Nast, Apple Reach iPad Deal (AAPL)

The maker of such popular magazines such as Wired, Vanity Fair, Glamour, and others, Condé Nast announced today that it will begin selling subscriptions to iPad edition through Apple's AAPL App Store, writes the Wall Street Journal. The New Yorker will be the first magazine on the App Store, and will then expand to others. The prices were the major hold up, as Condé Nast now joins Hearst in selling subscriptions on the App Store. The New Yorker will cost $5.99 a month or $59.99 a year. Other magazines will be far cheaper. Subscriptions for Wired, Vanity Fair, Glamour, Golf Digest, Allure, Self and GQ magazines will cost $1.99 a month, respectively, or $19.99 a year, the company said. "We've been working closely with Apple for some time to be the first to deliver what consumers clearly want: easy access to premium packaged digital content via subscription," Condé Nast President Robert Sauerberg said in a written statement. At last check, shares of Apple were up $1.34 to $348.00, a gain of 0.4%.
