Aegon Posts 12% Drop In Q1 Net Income

Aegon NV AEG reported a 12% drop in its first-quarter net income on Thursday. The company's net profit came in at 327 million euros, down from €372 million, in the year-ago quarter. Its sales declined 2.1% to €1.41 billion. The company's underlying profit fell to €414 million from €446 million. AEG shares fell 1.05% to close at $7.55 yesterday.
