Ventas Prevails in Appeal against HCP; Court Affirmed $106.1M Jury Verdict in Venta's Favor

Ventas, Inc. VTR today announced that the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit has unanimously affirmed the $101.6 million jury verdict in Ventas's favor in the Company's lawsuit against HCP, Inc. HCP for tortious interference with business expectation arising out of the Company's acquisition of Sunrise Senior Living REIT in April 2007. The Court also decided that Ventas is entitled to seek punitive damages against HCP for its conduct.
