Its total net revenue rose 53.5% y/y to RMB687.6 million ($105.0 million). DANG's adjusted EBITDA rose 27.7% y/y to RMB7.6 million ($1.2 million). Dangdang's total net revenue increased 53.4% to RMB687.6 million ($105.0 million). However, analysts were expecting earnings of $0.00 per share on revenue of $103.37 million. Dangdang projects its Q1 total net revenue to be in the range of RMB779 million to RMB789 million.
Ann Inc ANN released its results for the first quarter on Friday. Ann's quarterly profit surged to $27.3 million, or $0.51 per share, from $22.6 million, or $0.38 per share, in the year-earlier period. Its sales surged to $523.6 million from $476.2 million. However, analysts were expecting a profit of $0.48 per share on sales of $512.1 million. Its comparable sales climbed 7.8%.
Tokyo Electric Power Co TKECY released its results for the fiscal ended March 31. The company reported a loss of 1.25 trillion yen ($15.3 billion) for the fiscal ended March 31. Of Tepco's loss, around ¥1 trillion or 80% was due to charges associated to the post-earthquake nuclear crisis at its Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant. Tepco also reported that its President Masataka Shimizu will step down. The company's managing director Toshio Nishizawa has been named the new president.
Hibbett Sports Inc HIBB released its results for the first quarter on Friday. Hibbett reported its Q1 net income at $21.3 million, up from $17.3 million, in the year-ago period. Hibbett reported its Q1 earnings at $0.76 per share. The company's revenue increased 10.4% y/y to $203.7 million. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $0.67 per share on revenue of $201 million. Hibbett's comparable store sales surged 6.8%. Hibbett lifted its FY12 earnings guidance to $1.80 to 1.95 per share, from $1.70 to 1.90 per share. However, analysts expected earnings of $1.85 per share.
Yingli Green Energy Holding Co Ltd YGE reported downbeat Q1 results on Friday. Yingli reported its Q1 net income at $56.2 million, or $0.35 per American Depositary Share (ADS), up from $28 million, or $0.18 per ADS, in the year-ago period. Excluding items, the company's earnings came in at $0.35 per ADS, down from analysts' estimates of $0.39. Yingli's revenue surged 47% to $527.3 million, down from analysts' estimates of $567.5 million.
Camelot Information Systems Inc CIS released its results for the first quarter on Friday. Camelot reported its Q1 earnings at $0.10 per share, versus analysts' estimates of $0.10 per share. The company's revenue surged 51.7% y/y to $53.6 million, versus analysts' estimates of $50.4 million. Camelot projects Q2 earnings of $0.20 per share on revenue of $60 million. However, analysts expected Q2 earnings of $0.19 per share on revenue of $58.09 million. The company projects FY11 earnings of $0.86 per share on revenue of $254 million. However, analysts estimated earnings of $0.87 per share on revenue of $254.38 million.
Scottish & Southern Energy PLC SSEZY reported a 21% rise in its net profit for the year ended March 31 on Friday. Scottish & Southern Energy reported a net profit at 1.5 billion pounds ($2.4 billion), versus 1.24 billion pounds, in the year-earlier period. Its adjusted profit before tax surged 1.6%. The company's revenue surged to 28.3 billion pounds, from 21.6 billion pounds, in the year-earlier period. Scottish & Southern Energy also lifted its dividend by 7.1% to 75 pence per share.
