SAC Capital Advisors LP is being probed by the SEC to see if traders used inside information to profit from the takeover of MedImmune Inc. in 2007. The F.D.A. is reviewing some birth control pills because of potential health consequences. The California State Assembly has approved a bill that would allow it to go after Internet retailers that do not collect state sales tax. Among those companies that are affected are Amazon AMZN, and Overstock OSTK.
