URS Corporation URS today announced that it has been awarded an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract from the Department of Defense to support the Defense Threat Reduction Agency's Cooperative Threat Reduction Program. The multiple award contract, which has a five-year base term followed by a one year option period, has a maximum aggregate value to all four awardees including URS of approximately $950 million, if the option period is exercised.
Under the terms of the re-compete award, URS will provide training, engineering, facilities maintenance and management services for the Cooperative Threat Reduction Program. The program promotes cooperative efforts between the United States and other countries to safeguard and eliminate weapons of mass destruction.
Commenting on the contract, Randall A. Wotring, President of Federal Services for URS, said: “We are pleased to have been selected for this contract, which highlights URS' experience and expertise in handling chemical, biological and nuclear materials. We look forward to broadening our relationship with the Defense Threat Reduction Agency and helping to further advance this important initiative.”
