After losing nearly 20% of its value over the past several session, Lorillard Inc. LO shares are rising 2.5% today on 1.3 million shares.
At last check, shares were up $2.45 to $99.65, a gain of 2.52%. Yesterday, the company added an ex-FDA official Neil Wilcox as the company's new Chief Compliance Officer.
Shares have fallen every day since the beginning of the month, when shares closed at $115.28 on May 31. Since then, shares have closed down every day on increasing volume, as investors worry about the impact the FDA will have on menthol cigarettes, which is where Lorillard generates the majority of its revenue from.
Lorillard, Inc., through its subsidiaries, engages in the manufacture and sale of cigarettes in the United States. The company offers 41 different product offerings under the Newport, Kent, True, Maverick, Old Gold, and Max brand names.
