Acacia Subsidiary, Lighting Ballast Control, Receives Jury Verdict Awarding $3 Million in Patent Infringement Case

On June 17, 2011, Acacia Research Corporation's ACTG subsidiary, Lighting Ballast Control LLC, received a jury verdict of infringement and an award of damages in its patent infringement trial with Universal Lighting Technologies, Inc. pending in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas. The federal court jury returned a unanimous verdict that Universal Lighting Technologies had infringed all asserted claims of United States Patent Number 5,436,529 and awarded damages in the amount of $3,000,000.
