Update: 6/27/2011
It looks like they are finally back up.
Market News and Data brought to you by Benzinga APIs"Trading working, up to 1 minute delay before order execution."----- After the world's largest Bitcoin exchange, Mt. Gox, was hacked last Sunday, the site's operators have been frantically, and unsuccessfully trying to get the exchange reopened. The resumption of trading has been pushed back numerous times and there was yet another delay today. Yesterday, Mt. Gox wrote that "users with reclaimed accounts will be able to login to Mt. Gox on Friday June 24th at 3:00 GMT (12:00 JST). Once you are logged back into the Mt.Gox site you will be able to withdraw and deposit funds as per usual. You will not be able to trade initially, but we plan to activate trading within an hour of the site being up (4:00 GMT)" Today, once again, users are finding out that this isn't the case. On Friday, Mt. Gox wrote that "Once you are logged back into the Mt.Gox site you will be able to withdraw and deposit funds as per usual. You will not be able to trade initially, but we plan to activate trading within an hour of the site being up (4:00 GMT)...If we were to stick to the launch time of 3:00 GMT the majority of accounts will still not have access to Mt.Gox at the reopening. We want to ensure as many users as possible have equal access when we are ready to open the site again." "We will relaunch the site on June 25 at 3:00 GMT. Trading will resume at 4:00 GMT (same day)." At this point, Bitcoin traders with accounts at Mt. Gox, are likely not terribly optimistic about the chances of this new announcement being accurate.
