Arch Capital Group Says 2Q Reults to be Negatively Impacted by Catastrophic Events, Losses $90M-110M

Arch Capital Group ACGL announced that the Company's 2011 second quarter results will be negatively impacted by catastrophe events that occurred during the second quarter, including the severe weather that hit the U.S. during April and May 2011, the recent New Zealand earthquake and other second quarter events, as well as updated loss estimates for catastrophes that occurred during the first quarter, in the range of $90 million to $110 million, net of reinsurance and reinstatement premiums. Approximately 85% of this range of estimates relates to the second quarter events, with the balance relating to re-estimation of the first quarter events.
