Advanced Integration Technology (AIT), a leading industrial automation and tooling company delivering fully integrated plant floor systems to the aerospace industry, has expanded its manufacturing capabilities with the opening of its new subsidiary, Advanced Integrated Tooling Solutions (AITS) in Chesterfield Township, Michigan.
At the new 312,000-square-foot facility, AITS will deliver a broad range of custom equipment, machines and tooling used in the manufacture and assembly of commercial, business and military aircraft in the U.S. and internationally. Additionally, AITS will provide design services as well as high-precision fabrication, machining and assembly to also serve emerging high-technology tooling needs in other industries that are aligned with the company’s core competencies.
This AIT venture combined with its existing 65,000-square-foot operations in Vancouver, British Columbia, results in a robust manufacturing platform for a variety of aerospace automation systems and tooling.
“AIT has primarily been known as an automation company,” said AIT President Ed Chalupa, “and we’ve been very successful for almost 20 years. After listening to those customers that rely on our expertise, we knew the time was right to strategically expand our internal offerings to include significantly greater capacity and augment our tooling capability.”
“We are excited to be able to deliver increased capabilities to meet our customers’ demands,” said Jeff Hutton, newly appointed president of AITS. “From bond molds to assembly jigs and more, AITS is able to provide the highest quality equipment and tooling to support our substantial new business.”
Recent contract wins for AIT tooling and equipment include such programs as Airbus A350, Spirit AeroSystems A350, Bombardier Learjet 85, Bombardier CSeries, Embraer 170/190 and Lockheed Martin F-35 Joint Strike Fighter.
The AITS facility is located at 29700 Commerce Boulevard, Chesterfield Township, MI 48051.
