Hot Topic Reports Same-Store Sales Jump

Shares of Hot Topic HOTT are rising in the after-hours following the release of the company's June same-store sales metrics. Currently, shares are higher by 1.35%, trading at $7.52; they ended the regular session lower by 3.51%, at $7.42. Hot Topic said that June same store sales came in at +0.4%; the Street was looking for a decline of 2.4%. Hot Topic, Inc. is a mall and Web-based specialty retailer operating the Hot Topic and Torrid concepts, as well as the e-space music concept, ShockHound. It sells a selection of music/pop culture-licensed and music/pop culture-influenced apparel, accessories, music and gift items for young men and women principally between the ages of 12 and 22.
