AMD Still Citi's Top Idea as a "Share Gainer"

“Beginning with their netbook and low-end notebook chip Brazos in Q1, AMD continued to execute on its roadmap with the subsequent launch in Q2 of Llano, intended for mainstream notebooks,” Citi wrote in a report focusing on AMD AMD. “Gross margins in AMD's Computing Solutions segment benefited from strong sales of Brazos in Q1 (notably to Sony SNE & Toshiba), and we believe the official launch of Llano at Computex to confirmed favorable buzz heard so far. “Consensus estimates have yet to reflect potential share gain and margin improvement, thus we suspect estimates will move higher by the end of 2Q11.” AMD closed Wednesday at $7.00.
