T-Mobile Says It's Confident AT&T Merger Complies with Antitrust Laws and Advances Public Interest

Tom Sugrue, T-Mobile senior vice president of Government Affairs, issued the following statement on Sen. Herb Kohl's (D-Wis.) decision to oppose the AT&T T/T-Mobile transaction. "We are disappointed to learn of the position taken by Sen. Kohl on the proposed merger between AT&T and T-Mobile USA. While we have a great deal of respect for Sen. Kohl, we strongly disagree with his analysis of this transaction, which will bring significant benefits to American consumers. The proposed merger is currently being carefully scrutinized by the Department of Justice and the FCC, and we are confident that the review process will demonstrate that the merger is fully consistent with the antitrust laws and significantly advances the public interest."
