TeleCommunication Systems Receives $3.6 Million in Funding From U.S. Army for SNAP Deployable Satellite Systems and Maintenance

TeleCommunication Systems TSYS today announced that it has received an additional $3.6 million in funding from the U.S. Army for equipment and maintenance of Secret Internet Protocol Router and Non-secure Internet Protocol Router Access Point (SNAP) Very Small Aperture Terminal satellite systems. The funding is the result of exercised options on three previously issued delivery orders from the U.S. Army Communications - Electronics Life Cycle Management Command. This additional SNAP funding will provide the U.S. Army with equipment and support for TCS' SwiftLink® deployable communications products. The U.S. Army Project Manager for the Warfighter Information Network - Tactical (PM WIN-T) Commercial Satellite Terminal Program is funding these procurements through the Army's $5 billion World-Wide Satellite Systems (WWSS) contract vehicle. The SNAP program includes options for approximately 1,500 terminals and supporting equipment to be deployed in various sizes and configurations, along with up to 30 field-support positions. "This procurement affirms our ongoing ability to support the military's need for highly reliable deployable satellite communications systems," said Michael Bristol, senior vice president and general manager of government solutions for TCS. "When it comes to carrying out their missions, the U.S. armed forces need field-proven systems and support they can trust. The fact that the military continues to turn to us for deployable satellite communications equipment demonstrates the strength and reliability of our systems."
