Kimberly-Clark Corp KMB reported upbeat results for the fiscal second quarter on Monday.
Kimberly-Clark's quarterly earnings dropped to $408 million, or $1.03 per share, from $498 million, or $1.20 per share, in the year-earlier period. Its total revenue rose 8% y/y to $5.3 billion. Excluding certain items, the company's earnings came in at $1.18 per share. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $1.14 per share on revenue of $5.1 billion.
Kimberly-Clark still projects 2011 earnings of $4.80 to $5.05 per share.
KMB shares dropped 1.16% to $67.11 in pre-market trading.
