Top Narrow Based Indexes For August 1

By 10:13 am, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 66.34 points, or 0.55%, to 12,076.90, while the broader Standard & Poor's 500 index had dropped 7.69 points, or 0.60%. The NASDAQ composite index fell 10.76 points, or 0.39%. Some of the narrow based indexes that are still afloat in the markets are Chinese Solar Stocks, which have gained 4.8%, Rare Earth Stocks, up 3.5%, and Solar Stocks, moving 3.2% higher as a group. In Tickerspy's Chinese Solar complex, DAQQ New Energy Corp DQ had surged 5.2%. DQ is scheduled to report its Q2 results on August 15, 2011. The best performing Tickerspy Rare Earth stock has been Lynas Corporation Limited LYSCF, which was up 5.6%. LYSCF had $298.90 million in total cash and no debt for the recent quarter. Ascent Solar Technologies Inc ASTI is today's leading Tickerspy's Solar stock, gaining 5.3%. ASTI shares have dropped 66.91% over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has gained 17.31% in the same period.
