UPDATE: NiSource Reports 38% Rise In Q2 Net Profit

NiSource Inc NI reported a 38% surge in its second-quarter net profit. NiSource's quarterly net profit rose to $38.9 million, or $0.14 per share, from $28.1 million, or $0.10 per share, in the year-ago period. Its gross revenue climbed 4.9% to $1.23 billion. NiSource's operating earnings from continuing operations came in at $0.17 per share. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $0.14 per share on revenue of $1.15 billion. NiSource shares fell 0.05% to close at $20.12 yesterday.
