UPDATE: Emerson Electric Reports Rise In FQ3 Earnings, Maintains Full-Year Forecast

Emerson Electric Co EMR released its results for the fiscal third quarter on Tuesday. Emerson Electric reported its quarterly profit at $683 million, or $0.90 per share, up from $585 million, or $0.77 per share, in the year-ago period. Its net sales surged 16% to $6.3 billion. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $0.90 per share. The company maintained its full-year 2011 earnings forecast of $3.20 to $3.30 per share. Analysts projected full-year earnings of $3.27 per share. Emerson Electric shares dropped 2.16% to $48.00 in after-hours trading.
