Ross Stores July Same Store Sales up 7%

Ross Stores, Inc. ROST today reported that sales increased 11% to $635 million for the four weeks ended July 30, 2011, up from $573 million in sales for the four weeks ended July 31, 2010. Comparable store sales for the month grew 7%. For the thirteen weeks ended July 30, 2011, sales totaled $2.089 billion, a 9% gain over the $1.912 billion in sales for the thirteen weeks ended July 31, 2010. Comparable store sales for the quarter ended July 30, 2011 were up 5% on top of a 4% increase in the prior year. For the six months ended July 30, 2011, sales totaled $4.164 billion, an 8% increase over the $3.847 billion in sales for the six months ended July 31, 2010. Comparable store sales for the six months ended July 30, 2011 increased 4% on top of a strong 7% gain last year.
