iPhone 5 Announcement Coming September 7?

The annual iPod event could be swapped for a day of iPhone 5 hype. Kodawarisan is reporting (via MacRumors) that Apple AAPL is gearing up for a major fall media event involving the next evolution of the iPhone. “We confirmed with Kodawarisan that the date was not the product of guesswork, but came from a source in the know,” MacRumors reports. This is pretty intriguing, but it isn't all that surprising. Considering that Apple squandered any opportunity it may have had to announce the iPhone 5 this summer, there is no reason why the company shouldn't use its September event to promote the device.
