The planned purchase by Google GOOG of Motorola Mobility MMI is making allegiances of some companies involved murkier and intensifying the playing field even more. Yea, because it wasn't already an Apple AAPL-Android war before. THIS, and only this, will muddy things. End sarcasm. France and Germany's leaders had discussions today over how to best position the European Union for a monetary union or risk watching it unravel. France suggested waving the white flag and Germany suggested taking over everything. Seems familiar, doesn't it?
