Royal Bank of Canada Reports Rise In Core Profit

reported about 13% rise in its quarterly profit from continuing operations. The bank reported its quarterly earnings at C$1.57 billion ($1.59 billion), or C$1.04 per share, up from C$1.38 billion, or 92 Canadian cents per share, in the year-ago period. On a net basis, Royal Bank of Canada posted a loss of C$92 million. Royal Bank of Canada shares dropped 1.23% to close at $51.27 yesterday.
