Huffington Post Hits 1,000,000,000 Monthly Page Views

Is AOL's massive acquisition finally paying off? According to AllThingsD, the Huffington Post has announced that it has topped one billion page views for the month of August. This announcement coincides with AOL's AOL acquisition of an “online grassroots platform” called Localocracy, whose “key execs” will reportedly join the AOL content unit. According to AllThingsD's source, the company was acquired for under $1 million. Further, the Huffington Post is hiring Lisa Belkin away from the New York Times. She'll join the Huffington Post as a senior columnist, where she'll cover parenting and family issues. Follow me @LouisBedigian
