Metals Higher, Silver Soaring

The metals market is much higher today, with silver exploding to the upside. Equities are sharply higher going into the FOMC meeting later, with all three indexes up. Copper is up 8.8 cents to trade at $3.59, a gain of just over 2.5%. Ipath Dow Jones Ubs Copper Total ETF JJC is up $1.14 to $46.49, a gain of 2.5%. Silver is up sharply, up $1.46 to $34.19, as it looks like $35 is the next mark for the precious metal. It is up 4.46%, the most among the metals complex. Shares of Ishares Silver Trust ETF SLV are down $1.59 this morning, to trade at $32.79, a loss of 4.7%. Gold is up $28.00 an ounce to $1,739.80, a gain of 1.64%. Shares of Spdr Gold Trust ETF GLD are up $1.77 to $169.15. Platinum is up $32.00 an ounce, trading at $1,614.00, a gain of 2.12%. The platinum ETF ETFS Physical Platinum Shares PPLT is up $1.98 this morning to trade at $159.22, a gain of 1.26%. Palladium is up $11.90 an ounce today, trading at $647.60, as it looks like it will break $700 an ounce. Shares of ETFS Physical Palladium Shares PALL are sharply higher today, up 89 cents to $63.77.
