Metals Soaring, Copper Lagging

The metals market is much higher today, with the notable exception of copper, which has struggled to come back into positive territory. Equities are lower, with all three indexes down. Copper is down 1.4 cents to trade at $3.55, a loss of just over 0.4%. Ipath Dow Jones Ubs Copper Total ETF JJC is down 9 cents to $46.08, a loss of 0.2%. Silver is up 58 cents to to $34.66, a gain of 1.7% this morning. Shares of Ishares Silver Trust ETF SLV are up 62 cents to trade at $33.82, a gain of 1.87%. Gold is soaring, up $26 an ounce to $1,782.10, a gain of 1.5%. Shares of Spdr Gold Trust ETF GLD are soaring, up $2.55 to $173.40. Platinum is up $24.40 an ounce, trading at $1,653.70, a gain of nearly 1.5%. The platinum ETF ETFS Physical Platinum Shares PPLT is up $1.56 this morning to trade at $163.38, a gain of almost 1%. Palladium is up $6.55 an ounce today, trading at $661.85, as it looks like it will break $700 an ounce. Shares of ETFS Physical Palladium Shares PALL are sharply higher today, up 50 cents to $65.44.
