Axiotron Corp. (AXO - TSX Venture),
Modbook(r) manufacturer Axiotron(r) today released Quickscript(tm), the company's new handwriting recognition application which offers highly accurate conversion of handwriting into digital characters in 26 different languages. Quickscript (version 3.0) is now available for download to Mac(r) users for a 30-day free trial at http://www.axiotron.com/quickscript.
Quickscript can be purchased beginning next week at http://www.axiotron.com/quickscript for just $29 -- a savings of $10 off the regular price of $39. This introductory offer expires May 31, 2010.
Robust Handwriting Recognition
Employing a state-of-the-art handwriting recognition engine developed by Vision Objects(r), Quickscript recognizes cursive handwriting, hand-printed text and isolated characters in 26 languages. Its many convenient features include a pop-up writing pad, configurable interface, basic gesture support, personal dictionary and handwriting recognition training. Quickscript enables Mac users to write in programs that accept text input such as Microsoft Word(r), Excel(r), Pages(r) and TextEdit, as well as to enter text throughout the Mac OS(r) X operating environment.
The application is compatible with Intel-based computers running Mac OS X version 10.5.x (Leopard(r)) and Mac OS X version 10.6.x (Snow Leopard(r)).
Quickscript comes pre-installed with an English (U.S.) language package and supports 26 languages, including Japanese, Korean, Chinese and Arabic. Users can download and install any of the other language packages. A full list of the available language packages can be found at http://www.axiotron.com/quickscript.
Optimized for the Modbook and Tablet Devices
Quickscript's powerful recognition engine and intuitive interface turn the Modbook -- Axiotron's award-winning Mac tablet computer -- into a productive note-taking device. Mac users who have pen tablet devices (such as those made by Wacom(r)) with the latest drivers can also benefit from Quickscript.
With Quickscript, users can send converted text manually or automatically to a receiving application. In addition, Quickscript is optimized for tablet devices, allowing users to hold text on the Quickscript writing pad during composition and then release the text to the receiving application simply by disengaging the pen from the tablet.
Innovative Digital Assistant Feature
Quickscript is pre-installed with the innovative Kopernikus(tm) digital assistant feature. Through its native support of AppleScript(r), Mac OS X's built-in automation technology, Kopernikus lets users open applications and perform other tasks by writing short commands on the Quickscript writing pad (operating much like Mac OS X's "Speech Recognition" feature).
Among its many possible functions, Kopernikus enables users who might be taking notes in Quickscript to quickly launch an application without ever leaving the Quickscript writing pad.
