Tuesday Morning’s Options Volume Leaders

The overall market is currently trading slightly lower on the session, the S&P 500 off 4 points; this seems like a reasonable give back considering the strong upside movement that was seen yesterday. It appears that with the Euro contagion currently kicked down the road investors are able to focus on the improving economic factors within the U.S. Here are your options volume leaders on a Tuesday morning… 1. Citigroup C 157,414 contracts, 51.9% calls, 48.1% puts 2. Bank of America BAC 146,120 contracts, 24.0% calls, 76.0% puts 3. Apple Inc. AAPL 84,115 contracts, 57.5% calls, 42.5% puts 4. MBIA Inc. MBI 68,898 contracts, 15.8% calls, 84.2% puts 5. General Electric GE 68,302 contracts, 17.8% calls, 82.2% puts It is a little disheartening to see puts heavily favored in BAC and GE; I would keep an eye on those stocks to see how they perform. They can be canaries for the overall market.
