According to Ministry of Finance, Japan's current-account surplus widened to 625.4 billion yen ($8 billion) in July, versus ¥433.3 billion in June.
Economists were expecting a surplus of ¥438.2 billion. Japan's trade deficit for the month came in at ¥373.6 billion. The country's exports dropped 7.4% y/y, while imports climbed 1.9%.
