After a disastrous day of trading yesterday, shares of Halliburon HAL and Anadarko Petroleum APC are rallying today.
Both companies are involved in the Gulf oil spill. Anadarko owns a 25 percent stake in the Gulf of Mexico well that ruptured in the April 20 explosion. Halliburton also did a variety of work on the well.
Anadarko is up $1.38, or 3.28%, to $43.48 today. Shares slumped 19.5% yesterday and are down more than 43 percent since the well ruptured.
Halliburton is up $1.95, or 9.22% today, to $23.10. Yesterday shares slipped 14.8 percent.
