Costco Posts Upbeat August Same-Store Sales

Costco Wholesale COST reported upbeat same-store sales for August. Including the impact of fuel and foreign exchange, Costco's same-store sales increased 4% in the month. However, analysts were estimating same-store sales to surge 3.8% in the month. Its net sales for August jumped 7% to $7.95 billion, while Q4 sales gained 1% to $31.8 billion. Costco shares closed at $111.50 yesterday.
