• Microsoft MSFT posted fiscal fourth quarter earnings of 51 cents compared with Zacks estimate of 47 cents. Revenues were up 22.5% year over year to $16 billion compared with Zacks estimate of $15.3 billion

• SanDisk SNDK posted second quarter earnings of 18 cents, on revenues that moved up 61.5% from the year-ago period to $1.2 billion compared with equivalent Zacks estimate

• NCR NCR reported second quarter earnings of 35 cents compared with Zacks estimate of 31 cents; on revenues of $1.2 billion, up 4.7% from a year ago, compared with Zacks estimate of the same amount

• Mosaic MOS posted earnings of 89 cents with a 16.7% growth in revenues to $1.9 billion

• E*Trade ETFC earnings for the second quarter came in at 12 cents, on revenues of $534 million which was 14% below last year's sales

• American Express AXP reported second quarter earnings results 6 cents higher than anticipated. Revenues increased 12.6% year over year to $6.9 billion compared with Zacks estimate of $6.8 billion 

• Capital One COF posted second quarter earnings of $1.33, higher than Zacks estimate of 88 cents; on a 5.9% year over year revenue decrease to $3.9 billion, just short of Zacks estimate of $4 billion

• T Rowe Price TROW second quarter earnings of 59 cents just missed Zacks estimate by a penny, on a 30.6% revenue increase to $577.4 million, which fell short of Zacks estimate of $580 million

• Kimberly-Clark KMB posted second quarter earnings of $1.20, 7 cents higher than expected by Zacks, with a 2.8% year over year revenue increase to $4.85 billion, which fell short of Zacks estimate of $4.93 billion

• Verizon VZ beat Zacks estimates by 2 pennies as its second quarter earnings reached 58 cents on revenues that fell 0.3% from the year-ago period to $26.77 billion, short of Zacks' expectations of $27 billion

• Ingersoll-Rand IR posted better-than-Zacks expected second quarter earnings of 76 cents, a penny beat, on a 7.3% revenue increase to $3.7 billion, which beat Zacks estimate of $3.6 billion

• Ford F second quarter earnings exceeded Zacks' estimate by 28 cents, at 68 cents, as its revenues increased 16.8% to $31.3 billion versus Zacks estimates of $29.5 billion
