Top Narrow Based Indexes For August 4 (XJT, EMMS, XOMA)

By 12:59 pm, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 35.46 points, or 0.33%, to 10,671.84, while the broader Standard & Poor's 500 index had gained 4.63 points, or 0.41%. The NASDAQ composite index rose 15.41 points, or 0.67%. Some of the narrow based indexes supporting the markets are Airline Stocks, which have gained 7.4%, Radio Stocks, up 4.2%, and Cancer Stocks, moving 4.0% higher as a group. In Tickerspy's Airline complex, Expressjet Holdings Inc XJT had surged 100%. SkyWest has agreed to buy XJT for $133 million. The best performing Tickerspy Radio stock has been Emmis Communications Corporation EMMS, which was up 27.5%. EMMS has extended its offer to issue 12% PIK Senior Subordinated Notes due 2017 in exchange for its 6.25% Series A Cumulative Convertible Preferred Stock. XOMA Ltd XOMA is today’s leading Tickerspy's Cancer stock, gaining 20.2%.
