Small-cap Darling International DAR is lower today after reporting earnings that fell short of Wall Street expectations.
During the second quarter Darling earned $0.14 per share, $0.02 lower than the $0.16 consensus estimate. Revenues, however, topped estimates coming in at $166.2 million versus the $165.8 million consensus.
Darling is a food processing by-products recycling company. The company recycles used restaurant cooking oil and by-products from the beef, pork and poultry processing industries. The company turns these by-products into usable products such as tallow, feed-grade fats, and meat and bone meal.
Share of Darling are lower today by 36 cents, or 4.60%, to $7.46.
