Retailers Lead Dow Out of the Red

Driven by rallying retail stocks like Target TGT, Wall Street climbed out of the red and turned solidly higher Wednesday afternoon as the bulls look to add onto Tuesday's triple-digit rally and overcome a mixed batch of corporate earnings. Today’s Markets As of 1:23 p.m. ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 45.19 points, or 0.43%, to 10450.73, the Standard & Poor's 500 added 5.49 points, or 0.50%, to 1097.96 and the Nasdaq Composite picked up 16.35 points, or 0.74%, to 2225.80. The FOX 50 gained 4.22 points, or 0.53%, to 794.56. The Dow had been down as much as 75 points before bouncing off its lows and making steady gains. Without any major economic reports on the horizon, the focus was on the action in the retail sector and weak stock reactions to results from farm machinery maker Deere DE and BJ’s Wholesale Club BJ.
