Afternoon Market Update (HAIN, SNIC, DIVX, JAS)

Shares of Hain Celestial Group HAIN surged more than 4% after the company reported strong Q4 results yesterday. CEO Irwin Simon said, "In a tough economy, consumers continued to recognize the value of eating healthy and how healthful eating will continue to be a major part of people's lives, which we believe will allow us to expand our business for the future." Shares of Sonic Solutions SNIC jumped more than 8% today. The company is expecting its $323 million acquisition of DivX Inc DIVX to close by next month. DIVX’s shares also gained about 3.5%. Shares of Jo-Ann Stores Inc JAS surged more than 13%, after the company raised its projections for the full year, driven by improvement in the profit margins, along with healthy demand for sewing supplies.
