iTunes Going Social

Although many users are waiting for Apple (AAPL) to release streaming music services, iTunes may be looking to take on more social networking features. The social updates will most likely allow users to communicate with each other through pre-existing social networking sites, like Facebook and Twitter. There, they will be able to share their musical interests, playlists, and most recent plays as well as make recommendations to friends. Users will enjoy more communication with each other, but they will not actually be able to share or stream music from each other's account. Instead, Apple will provide links to download the mentioned songs in the updates. Some speculators are also suggesting that Apple is in the works of developing a wireless system that will allow more communication between devices. Therefore, if you bought a song on iTunes on your laptop, you could easily copy the song onto your iPhone or iPod without requiring any manual connection.
