Entrepreneurs are told to work long hours, build unique products, and revolutionize an industry that others ignored.
Some say that startups shouldn't rush into venture capital. And if they do take the money, they might not want to brag about it to the press.
Every entrepreneur must take a few risks. Eventually they may be offered a hefty paycheck to sell the business they risked everything to build.

By now, entrepreneurs have likely heard all about that. But many are still a missing out on a critical piece of advice.
David Farbman, the serial entrepreneur that founded Outdoor Hub, Carbon Media Group and other startups, believes that everyone has something called a "peak activity window." During this three-hour period -- which can occur in the morning, midday or at night -- productivity increases as much as 10X.
"I believe that within those three hours, we are at our absolute peak," Farbman told Benzinga. "Those three hours, in a perfect world, are leveraged for the harder, really, meaty stuff that you're really after and need to knock off -- the tougher goals that take a little bit more thinking [and] take careful execution in how you're putting them together. It's when you need to be doing your most inspired work."
Farbman said that he tries to stay away from social media and other distractions during his peak activity window.
"I also believe that without [the] peak activity window and really leveraging that, I wouldn't be able to craft the vision that I have to build multiple companies," he added. "Or I wouldn't have it in me to be able to think on different levels like that. I believe the peak activity window, for me, has been a key driver in making that actually happen."
Farbman wrote about this philosophy in his new book, The Hunt: Target, Track, and Attain Your Goals. He said that his peak activity window is currently between 4:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m., but it slips to later periods from time to time.
"Unfortunately, life at post-42, it seems to be moving quickly toward 5:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.," Farbman joked.
