Amazon Key Updates from Goldman

Goldman Sachs Recently spoke with Scot Wingo of ChannelAdvisor regarding Amazon AMZN updates. He said that SSS growth on Amazon remained rapid at 62% YoY in August, despite a slightly tougher comp. He also added that from a survey, 92% of consumers focus on product reviews, and ChannelAdvisor believes Amazon leads in depth and quality reviews. Best Buy will begin selling Amazon's Kindle e-reader in US stores this fall as well as Staples. In response to Apple's $0.99 pricing for some rentals on its new Apple TV device, Amazon has also reduced the price of select TV show downloads to $0.99 from $2.99. Amazon has also launched an updated checkout by allowing non-Amazon e-commerce websites to integrate Amazon's payment platform. It has also launched Amazon Mom, a free membership program offering three months of complimentary Prime shipping privileges, as well as a 30% discount on diapers and other baby products. Amazon closed Monday at $145.07
