In a note issued Thursday morning, Stifel analyst, Jim Duffy provided insight into how he thinks GoPro's GPRO mid-October launch date for its Hero 4 Black Edition will affect the stock.
In terms of price, the new Hero 4 Black will carry a retail price of $499.95, where as the Hero 3+ Black sells for $399.95.
While the broader audience may be content with the Hero 3+ Black, Duffy believes the core GoPro enthusiast base as well as the higher price point will be enough to provide upside to both his third and fourth quarter revenue estimates.
Despite the earlier than expected launch, Duffy wrote. "our summary view is that, balanced against execution risks, there is insufficient upside potential to justify a Buy rating." Stifel currently rates GoPro a Hold.
