Afternoon Market Update (THO, JBLU, DAL, PRU, AIG, CBG)

Shares of Thor Industries THO shares surged after the company reported upbeat Q4 earnings. The company reported that its acquisition of Heartland RV, along with a strong cash position without any outstanding debt, "will help fuel additional growth...in 2011 and beyond." THO shares are up about 13%. Airline stocks moved down, with the NYSE Arca Airline Index (XAL) down about 0.26%. The top losers among the list were JetBlue JBLU and Delta Air Lines DAL. Shares of Prudential Financial Inc PRU gained the most among the large-cap financial companies. PRU shares gained about 2.5% after the Dow Jones reported that the company will enter in a deal to purchase 2 Japanese life insurance units from American International Group Inc AIG for $4.8 billion. CB Richard Ellis Group Inc CBG was the top decliner in the Standard & Poor's 500 stock index. Shares of the Financial Select Sector SPDR exchange-traded fund (XLF) fell about 0.62%.
