CGI Awarded Five-Year, $46 Million Order

The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Office of Government-wide Policy has awarded CGI Federal Inc. (CGI), a wholly-owned U.S. operating subsidiary of CGI Group Inc. GIB a five-year blanket purchase agreement with a ceiling of up to US$46 million to provide dataset hosting and other information technology services for the Data.gov Web site. Developed by the Federal CIO Council as part of the Open Government Initiative, Data.gov increases the ability of the public to easily find, download, and use data published by Federal Government agencies. It serves as a central access point for citizens to view, conduct research and analyze federal government data from more than 272,000 datasets supplied by 135 federal agencies. The datasets include a wide range of collected information, including statistics related to public education, health, and geospatial mapping. Under the Data.gov Dataset Hosting Services BPA, CGI will provide hosting services for this important government information, as well as, technology tools for dataset analysis, and professional services.
