The new venture capital financing may value Uber at $40 billion, according to the New York Times, although the company didn't provide details.

The $1.2 billion venture financing "will allow Uber to make substantial investments, particularly in the Asia Pacific region," Uber said.
Uber last month was reportedly in talks for the venture financing with its existing investors, which includes Blackrock, TPG, Google Ventures and Menlo Ventures, according to a report citing unnamed sources by The Financial Times.
