Actel Corporation Shows Merger Monday Still In Effect (ACTL)

Merger Monday is still in effect this week, despite the deal being smaller than investors are accustomed to. Shares of Actel Corporation ACTL are up 30% to $20.94, a gain of $4.92 today. Earlier this morning, Microsemi Corp. MSCC announced it was acquiring Actel for a 30% premium to Friday's close, or $430 million in cash. Shares of Microsemi are higher today as well, gaining nearly 8% to $18.47, a gain of $1.36. Microsemi designs, manufactures, and markets high performance analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits (IC) and semiconductors. Actel designs, develops, and markets flash- and antifuse-based field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs). It offers a range of single-chip, flash-based solutions.
