Brazil's 3G Capital Partners is considering the possibility of acquiring food or beverage companies, including Campbell Soup Company CPB and PepsiCo Inc. PEP, according to sources, as reported by the Wall Street Journal. In order to do a deal as large as Pepsico, 3G could partner with Anheuser-Busch InBev NV BUD, say persons familiar with the matter. 3G reportedly has received pledges from investors totaling $5 billion over the past few weeks for a new takeover fund, though no decision has been made as to the next acquisition move.
