Toyota to Recall More U.S., Japanese Cars

TORRANCE, California (TheStreet) -- Toyota TM plans to recall 740,000 cars in the U.S. and 599,000 cars in Japan because of brake fluid problems. In the U.S., the recall will affect 2005 through 2006 Avalons, 2004 through 2006 non-hybrid Highlanders and Lexus RX330, and the 2006 Lexus GS300, IS250, and IS350 vehicles. The U.S. recall will address the "possibility that a small amount of the brake fluid could slowly leak from the brake master cylinder, resulting in illumination of the brake warning lamp," Toyota said. No accidents have been reported from the brake fluid problem, Toyota said. To read the rest, head over to TheStreet.com
