However, the company's earnings exceeded analysts' estimates. Applied Materials, Inc. AMAT shares fell 3.75 percent to touch a new 52-week low of $16.41. Applied Materials reported in-line earnings for its fiscal third quarter, but the company's sales missed analysts' estimates. The company also issued a weak forecast for the current quarter.
