FDIC Issues Two Deposit Insurance Proposals

Keefe Bruyette & Woods has published a research report on Large Cap banks after the FDIC Issues Two Deposit Insurance Proposals. In the report, KBW writes "On Tuesday, the FDIC issued two proposals on deposit insurance. The first is a proposal as mandated by Dodd-Frank which changes the way that deposit insurance premiums are calculated. The second is the re-issuance of a proposal from several months ago, which shifts the burden of paying deposit insurance premiums away from smaller banks and toward larger banks. Neither proposal is a surprise but the details, especially of the new assessment methodology, can have varying impacts of different institutions."
